ANDREA MANTELL-SEIDEL is artistic director of the Isadora Duncan Dance Ensemble. She has performed and toured the solo dances of Eleanor King and Isadora Duncan throughout the U.S. and abroad, appearing with the Greater Miami Opera; New York Riverside Dance Festival; Lincoln Center Festival Out-of-Doors; Annabelle Gamson/Dance Solos; Museum of fine Arts of New Mexico; at national and international conferences of the Society of Dance History Scholars; the Congress on Research in Dance in New York and Toronto, and at the Hong Kong International Dance Festival, as well as in Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Japan, and the Internationales Tanzfestival, Germany. Dr. Seidel was Eleanor King's primary protegee for over 16 years and serves as trustee of King's choreographic legacy. In 1988, Seidel conceived and directed the critically acclaimed Eleanor King Retrospective Project. She has been the recipient of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, the New Mexico Arts Division, and Metro-Dade Cultural Affairs Council. Dr. Seidel holds a Doctor of Arts in dance from New York University and is presently Associate of Dance at Florida International and director of the Intercultural Dance and Music Institute at FIU.
